Paris Tip: Boutique Maille Paris

q

For the love of mustard.

6 Place de la Madeleine, 75008 Paris

Mean while in Paris hides the sweetest little mustard store “Boutique Maille Paris” in the Madeleine square right in front of the church. My friend and I accidentally stumbled across it and it’s charm practically invited us in. We were just enjoying a glass of champagne on a terrace where our stunning view was L’église de la Madeleine and a darling row of flower stands. So as we chatted away enjoying the Parisian atmosphere, we spotted the tiny Boutique Maille. The mustard shop was a perfect stop to work up our appetites before lunch. We sampled some mustard flavours while the sales clerk spoke of its history and the making process. They come in various flavours; black truffle, chablis, bourgigne chardonnay etc and are served fresh from a pump into the cutest stoneware pots of various sizes. The chardonnay has a strong bitter flavour where the black truffle is a luxuriously deep shade of yellow. It is totally unique and has a delicate yet intense aroma with flecked shards of French black truffle.

These mustards have little preservatives as they are fresh and last for about 5 months in the fridge. Ps. They make cute gift ideas. These mustards have become an essential part of my cooking and if are in Paris, go check it out!
