Golden Chains & Delicate Lace In the Streets of Rome

Friday in Rome.

I wake up to the morning sun that shines directly in my eye and I lean over to see the rooftop of our hotels neighbouring buildings. Pigeons cooing on window sills and I gasp out loud as I watch the rustic spillage of green leaves and flowers overflowing from balconies. What a wonderful sight to see at 7.30 in the morning as I wake up in the heart of the old town on Via Della Pace 36/36a in the luxurious Navona Palace.

I hop into the shower and make myself a morning tea before heading to my closet to see what to wear for the day. it is + 23 degrees outside. I pull out a sheer white lace shirt that has lots of fun details, rough edges and a feminine delicateness to it. I love its romantic style and I know it will look fresh with my matte white nails. I decide to pair this with high-waisted black shorts, low ankle boots and layers of jewelry. When in Rome, you might aswell dress up!

Chanel it up

I chained out this classic look with lots of golden jewelry, a chunky chain and thin necklaces from Chanel. I love the number 5. necklace, it really goes well with everything. I also could not resist buying this purse on our first day in Rome. Once I held the purse in my hands, I knew I could not let go. Is there a support group for bag addicts?! because I could sure use it! The lacquered nude is simply beautiful and speaks for itself. These accessories made my outfit elegant for the streets of Rome and ready to start exploring the day.

The sound of espresso machines echo in the pebble streets. All dolled up, we enjoy breakfast in our little area that builds from narrow pathways and sweet little cafés and restaurants with heaps of characteristic. We draw attention from the locals as we sip on our savory and morning espressos.

Our route began with a walk to the Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and then to the main shopping street Corso, to the Spanish Steps and to the Fontana Di Trevi. We stopped for several lunches and glasses of prosecco along our walk. We visited all the main monuments but really spent less time at these places as they were filled with tourists. We were much satisfied walking around the cozy little streets and stopping for wine and cheese at less crowded places rather than looking at someones bold spot trying to catch a glimpse of history behind a storm of people and pickpocketers. We basically visited the sites at lighting speed and focused on Romes other lovely aspects and delicacies.

/ Perjantai Roomassa

Aurinko lämmitti naamaani ja heräsin sen lämpöiseen paisteeseen. Kello oli noin 7.30 ja aamu alkoi täydellisesti, kun vilkaisin meidän hotellihuoneen ikkunoiden näkymää idylliseen vanhaan kaupunkiin. Pulut ääntelevät ikkunalaudoilla ja naapurin parvekkeelta rönsyilee kasvillisuutta… niin kaunista katseltavaa. Asuimme Navona Palacissa lähellä Piazza Navonaa ja ihania pikku katukahviloita ja ravintoloita. Tyylikkäitä paikallisia vilisteli näillä mukulakivillä ja kirkonkellot soivat pitkin päivän. Siinä ikkunan äärellä rauhassa nautin kupillisen teetä ja ihmettelin aamu hölinää ennen suihkun menoa.

Pitsi tekee juhlan. Päätin pukea valkoista ja mustaa, jotta sopisin paikallisten joukkoon. Valkoinen pitsi hurmaa joka kerta ja rakastan sitä raikkautta ja romantiikkaa mitä siitä hohtaa. Tässä silkkipuserossa on kauniita yksityiskohtia ja uusi napiston paikka (käsissä ja selässä) tekee siitä mielenkiintoisen. Se sopii valkoiseen mattakynsilakkaani ja yhdisteltyyn shortseihin ja nilkkureihin. Asuni viimeistelin kultaisilla koruilla ja suurella nutturalla.

Let’s play dress up. Ihanaa kun Roomassa saa pukeutua, ei ikinä voi olla ylipukeutunut jos vain asu on viimeistelty tyylillä ja maulla. Huulissani on nudea huulipunaa ja samanvärinen uusi laukku, minkä heti ostin kun saavuin Roomaan. En valitettavasti voinut vastustaa laukkua ja koruja kun poikettiin Chanelin liikkeeseen. Heti kun laukku oli käsissäni en voinut laskea sitä alas.. selkeästi joku laukku addiktio! Mutta on se ihana! Nämä tekee asun täydellisen Rooman tyylikkäille kadulle.

Espresso koneen suhina kaikui kaduilla. Mentiin ensin aamupalalle ja siitä siiten kiertelemään katuja- Espanjalaisille portaille, panteonille, suihkulähteelle ja pysähdyttiin moneen otteeseen proseccoille ja lounaille. Nähtävyydet oli niin turistirysiä, joten ne käytiin läpi nopeasti ja lopulta nautittiin pikku kaduista, vanhasta arkkitehtuurista ja rennosta kiertelystä. Päivä oli ihana ja antoisa.
