My Fig Haven.


BUONGIORNO! My thoughts are back to Italy as I eat my heavenly bowl of figs this morning. One of our destinations in Puglia was a fig farm (the largest plantation in Europe actually) and we stayed in a masseria in the middle of the fig plantation. We were surrounded with acres of figs and I ate such juicy ripe ones every morning. Figs happen to be one of my favourite fruits in the fall as its diverse flavour works perfectly with so many other components. I love its sweetness and usually combine it with a salty cheese. This quark bowl has a mixture of figs, berries with basil and chia seeds. I added a bit of honey on top as it is Saturday after all!
