Breakfast time with freshly toasted granola.

Only 2 more days until Christmas Eve! This morning the smell of Christmas entered our house… It is snowing outside and the kitchen smells of sweet cinnamon and vanilla as the granola cools down. The granola smells as delicious as it tastes so I’m making cute gifts from them decorated in beautiful maison jars. I have a serious weak spot for all kinds of nutty granola and this freshly toasted deliciousness made our breakfast rather spectacular. Even though they are tasty just like that,ย  I added the granola in natural yogurt with coconut, chia and kiwi.

Ingredients
  • A mixture of Different Oats
  • Flax Seeds
  • Walnuts / Almonds
  • Dried Mulberry berries
  • Sunflower Seeds
  • Cinnamon
  • Cardamom
  • Vanilla Pod (optional)
  • Honey
  • Maple syrup
  • Mild Oil (rapeseed oil)
  • Pinch of Salt
Directions

Preheat your oven to 180 C. In a saucepan, gently heat the oil, honey and syrup so they combine. It is important to use a mild oil otherwise it gives too much flavour to the oats. Add in the spices (cinnamon, cardamom, seeds for vanilla pod, pinch of salt) and stir around with a wooden spoon. Place all the oats/nuts/seeds into a bowl andย  mix in the syrup so everything coats. Spread the granola on an oven tray that is lined with greaseproof paper and place into the oven for about 15 minutes. Let it cool before serving.
