But first, a pink smoothie

smoothie pink

This energizing lingonberry smoothie has become quite the weekly smoothie for me. I just love it’s sweet bitter taste and how it adds a boost of vitamines to my morning. I can’t wait for september to come so I can go and pick my own berries from the forest. To make this lovely pink smoothie, blend 1- 1/2 cups of lingonberry with quark and a bit of cold water.

    • Thank you! Quark is a dairy product found in Northern Europe. It is almost like yogurt, but much more healthier and higher in protein. It also has a bit of a sour taste to it. 🙂

      • Yes I eat skyr all the time, I love it! Quark is made out of the same base, however I used a natural version without an added flavouring to it! Yes you could use yogurt and might I suggest a thick greek one will be fabulous =) xxx

  1. Quark is a great substitute because it is so healthy, but I’m not sure they sell it everywhere. I have a feeling it may be a Nordic thing. Ps. Julie- my dream would be to have a wonderful garden where I could grow all my own vegetables and herbs. And my man and I travel with the same moto, off the tourist trails towards locals! Much more giving in so many ways.

  2. This recipe looks yummy! FYI- I have found quark in the yogurt section at Target. The brand name is “elli”. My favorite flavors are strawberry, blueberry and lemon. They also carry a number of other flavors. I visited Germany back in 1998 and discovered quark then. I have been looking for it here in the US ever since, so I was very excited to find it a few months ago.

    • Thats great to hear that you found some quark, yeah Ive heard its quite tricky in US! 😘 I love the natural the most and love to blend my own fruits/veges into them. Sometimes I think alot of the ready flavours taste quite artificial, but yes strawberry and lemon are great!
