Hi there darling readers!

Today I have been testing my new camera and here are the first pictures out! At the moment I don’t have a macro lens, so I’m shooting with canons EF 24-105 mm f/4L but I’m carving for the 50mm /1.2 F or 85mm/1.2 F that will be perfect for lifestyle photos! However, the camera works like a dream and has a certain extraordinary feeling to it. It is much heavier than my older one, but this also means it is more stable to work with … and I guess I’ll be getting a free bicep workout at the same time! I have a lot to learn with this canon 5D mark iii, but I feel this is going to be a great journey!

Home Made basil Dressing with Vegetables

Today I went to this antique/second-hand store with my mother and I bought these darling crystal glasses. I love the rough texture on them and they will merge beautifully with my other kitchen wear. I will be using these for both drinks and food especially for cold soups and smoothies during the summer.

Today’s salad builds from grated yellow turnips and carrots with a delicious fresh basil dressing on it. It has a fresh clean flavour to it that works well for any salad! To make the dressing you need to grind some salt, black pepper and lots of basil in a mortal and pestle and mix it with some greek yogurt and a teaspoon of good quality pesto. I guess you could do this in a blender as well, but I love to use the mortal and pestle when ever I can. This salty and fresh dressing works well with the crunchy raw vegetables! Yum!

Dressing ingredients

  • Large handful Basil
  • 1 teaspoon pesto
  • salt/black pepper
  • 2-3 tablespoons Greek yogurt
