‘Healthy Breakfast Smoothie’

This energizing green smoothie is a healthy and delicious way to start your morning. It has a sweet flavour from the dates and banana, a robust grainy and malty texture from the rye flakes, yet a refreshing feeling from the greens. This green smoothie is nice substitute for porridge and you can alter the consistency with the amount of rye flakes or other favourite oatmeal. This also makes a wonderful fresh and filling snack. Lately, I’ve been craving for dates so I ended up buying a large box of them that I nibble on through out the day. They add the perfect sweetness to smoothies/juices and I’ve even thinking about making a salty & sweet tart from them. To make this pale green healthy drink, you need to blend then ingredients below into a smoothie consistency:


  • 1 Banana
  • 1 cup Kale
  • 200 g Quark
  • 2 Dates
  • 1 cup Spinach Leaves
  • 1/2 cup Parsley
  • 1 Celery Stalk
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 cup Rye Flakes
  • 1 cup Water
