‘time for a morning smoothie at the countryside’

*sigh* it really doesn’t get any better than this... a view of lush greens and picking your own smoothie ingredients straight from the root! Completely organic and fresh from yesterday’s night rain, you can taste the intensity in the greens and are far more flavourful compared to store-bought leaves.

At P & M’s summer cottage we made a delicious green breakfast smoothie that was creamy, minty and super fresh packed with loads of vitamins and minerals. Mornings like this make my day, I can just feel the goodness going into my body after drinking this smoothie! I think I need a garden in my life, I love the feeling of picking your own produce and watching them grow throughout the seasons! This green drink is the perfect way to intake your daily nutrients and a real kick-start to the day.

What you need:

  • Kale
  • Parsley
  • Mint leaves
  • Variety of Salad Leaves
  • Turkish Yogurt
  • Bit of Water
  • Pinch of salt
  • Avocado

  1. This looks incredible, but I’ve never heard of Turkish yogurt before. Is it similar to or another name for Greek Yogurt? Also Hanna, what salad leaves are your favorite to use in this smoothie in regard to flavor and texture? I love green smoothies, so I’m incredibly excited about trying smoothie bowl for the first time!

  2. Thank you for your lovely comments <3! Yes Turkish yogurt is basically the same as Greek yogurt, so you can just as easily use that one or even Bulgarian yogurt, all variations work wonderfully! I usually use romaine lettuce as it holds its form well! However, you can use any salad leaves that you have laying around in your fridge, because they all just add a mild flavour to the smoothie! I also love to use spinach and kale! I'm so happy to hear you are excited about the green smoothie- let me know what you think =) Ps- a great tip is to add in a couple of dates if you prefer it sweeter! xx

    • The dates were a fantastic suggestion Hanna! What a perfect way to start the day! I also very much enjoyed the spinach and kale I used for this recipe! Thank you so much for such a great breakfast treat!
