Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre

Da Piva had some appeal to it is tucked away from the central road in Vernazza on Via Carattino. The narrow paths surround with shades of watermelon and this tiny authentic crowded trattoria is situated in an ally that is easy to miss. Cinque terre carries high tourist traffic throughout the seasons, which automatically makes it difficult to find decent places to eat. However, the seafood risotto is worth trying along with these lemon anchovies (that is the house special)  that I could not help photographing. The thin anchovies were so fresh, salty, coated with lemon, olive oil garlic and parsley. Simplicity at its best and remarkable on a hot day.
