Equestrian Blazer

long-blazer-1-of-1

When it snows so gently… it’s time to pull out the long sleek double-breasted blazer, over-the-knee boots and a fitted high-neck body. I love the equestrian style and simplicity of the look. I am particularly drawn to the length of the blazer combined with the crispy white colour underneath.

Arctic Vibes

winter-1-of-1
                                                                    Army Parka/ Barbed, Hat/Canada Goose

Today it was time to pull out the warmest of clothing and bundle up from the unbearable coldness. Mr. N and I couldn’t help but take a walk by the sea to witness the fiery sun that was low and intense, a deep orange in colour with insane lens flare potential. The foggy sea was at constant dance and the combination with the sun  looked as if there was brewing the largest storm or fire in the horizon. Just like yesterday, words cannot even describe the beauty, it was both spectacular and brutal at the same time, a moment that us nordics are very proud of where nature is at its finest. This fox fur parka is made for conditions like this, bring it on January.

Friday Lace

friday-lace-1-of-1

Currently my friday favourites consist of black lace lingerie, a foamy matcha latte spiced with cardamom, nutmeg and cloves, woolen quilts and fresh blooms. I love the way lace lingerie feels on, its light and delicate and a little bit of black is perfect for the holiday season. December is rolling by so quickly, I’ve been working everyday, mostly weekends as well but I’ve managed to squeeze in lots of holiday parties in between. A couple of days ago on Finland Independence day, my hubby and a bunch of our friends danced the night away and it was so spectacular! And from the looks of it, it seems like this will be a reoccurring event! Have a wonderful weekend!

Autumn Fur

fur-fall1-1-of-1

October.

Now the weather forecast is promising snow for tomorrow?! I feel that as October is coming to an end, so are the beautiful colourful autumn days as most of the leaves will probably start to fall off trees as the weather gets rougher. However, I’m still loving the brightness in the park, it makes me want to dress in light tones opposite to the vibrant hues of fall. I’m loving my new fox fur that I got from Verona during our honeymoon. I really like the structured light grey tone to it, the length, the deep pockets and it happens to be extremely warm.

All white for Date night

Nautical vibes

…and then it went, the sweetest date night my man had organized. Mr. N surprised we with a pampering session for hair and makeup before having dinner at boat club Njk, an island off Helsinki and the same island we are having our wedding on. It felt luxuries and relaxing to sip on bubbly and get my mind off from the wedding. Our evening continued with a view out to the sea and of our wedding venue and a delicious Scandinavian style food. For dessert we shared a cheese platter and took a night stroll around the wedding venue to see what it looked like in that light. I’m wearing an all white look, an elegant pleaded dress and a white embroidered blouse and my hair was twisted into a bohemian style messy bun. The eyes have a bit more smokiness to them than usual, but it’s still quite fresh with the overall look. Ps. Don’t you just love the little narrow boat sailboat behind me?

Rye Fields

hay field (1 of 1)
Dress. Boomerang/ Hat. Balmuir

A walk through these pale coloured rye fields is like a breath of fresh air as I stare into the open horizon and allow my senses to soak it all in. It is that smell after the rain and the silence all around us that gives me a sense of peace,  a refreshing change to be in the countryside from the city. The last couple of days have been all about organic produce from the garden, fresh cray fish and spending time with my family and little nephew. We went to the sauna, dipped in the cold lake and took a long walk in the wilderness and slept well, as you always do in an old wooden cottage. There is that quiet beauty here, a place to recharge your thoughts and create that optimal rhythm for life.

With every careful step I try not to damage any of the crop, the rough rye sweeps across my leg and my dress gently drapes over the field. The wind ruffles the hem and a group of storks fly past us and I feel that the end of summer is close by. The air has changed and the sun rays are more gentle. It gives me a tingle in my stomach, as this means our wedding is closer. I feel nervous, excited and a bit of stress from all the undone,  so the tranquility of the rural fields allows me to embrace the silence and connect with the natural world.

Gone to Hanko in Blue & White

hanko3 (1 of 1)

Blue and white stripes represent the essence of nordic summers to a tee; the freshness of the colour and the archipelago vibes it reflects. Last week, Mr. N and I took a day trip to Hanko to escape the hassle of the city. The weather was beautifully sunny and we enjoyed some typical Scandinavian seafood on a terrace and had some frozen yogurt for dessert on a pier watching the boats drift by. Hanko is a lovely summer town with charming old wooden houses and cute little nautical style shops.  My favourite thing about this dress is the style of the back and the deep relaxed pockets in the front. The dress has a very nordic element to it, its simple but interesting.

Country Blush

country1 (1 of 1)

‘countryside softness’

This moment was captured in the beautiful soft evening light after a rainy and stormy morning. As the clouds slid away, the hay fields in the horizon reflected a golden-yellow, while the pale green leaves on the trees swayed in the light breeze. The smell of the lush country in the summer time is quite spectacular; it’s organic and undisturbed creating a sense of instant calmness. On sunday Mr. N and I officially became my little nephews godparents and the lovely occasion took place at their countryside. I wore a simple blush dress, over the knees and arms covered as the christening took place in the same church they got married in. The event was intimate and magical, just like the little peanut himself.  On our way back home we stopped at their neighbour’s yard to feed this white cutie pie.
