Parisian Chic.

From classic rabbit fur hats to flat lace-up Aquazzura’s, a subtle hint of black and pale blush is the way to go this fall! The combination is fresh and flattering where the cold hue’s suit any skin tone. it is all about gentle lingerie under an oversized knit or a long cardigan that is topped with an edgy leather jacket. This outfit requires a takeaway coffee and a rustic bouquet of large roses hanging from your purse!

Gone for a glass of champagne in Rome

As we find a somewhat shadowed spot in a small restaurant in the narrow streets of Piazza Navona, we watch the nearby places fill up with stylish individuals who are out enjoying an aperifif. I love the feeling in this picture, 1920’s coupe glass and that first sip of cold champagne after a few hours of walking around. The day is hot, but we try to blend in with the locals by dressing in full autumn attire, long sleeves and all. Overdressed is always better than underdressed, especially in a beautiful elegant city like Rome.

Summer is officially over and while September has just begun, I wanted to share an autumn-must that makes an outfit fashionista worthy! This fall is all about statement accessories, mixing old and new together from rings and brooches to fabulous necklaces. As in food styling, an old antique plate or beaten-up spoon brings the photography to another level, while in fashion an old statement ring or vintage chain gives your style a charismatic edge.

I must say, I love this combination of a classic clean-cut blouse that has a lot of grace in itself but is shocked by a good chunk of jewelry. The layered add-ons create a desired fashionable look to complete that Italian-chic style, suitable for the trendy streets of Rome.

Holiday Cravings

Photo source: Kimono, Chanel bag, Sandals, Bikini, Espadrilles, Soft tones, Blush Top

As our Santorini and Italy holiday is becoming closer, I’ve been having some major fashion cravings. I’ve been wanting the oversized Chanel canvas beach bag for some time now, in a washed out blue, light grey or taupe colour. It is perfectly light and large enough to hold my camera and lenses really well. It would be the perfect day time bag when traveling! I’ve been hunting for it like a mad person and it seems to be sold out everywhere and I can’t even have it ordered! The next batch comes in November to Cannes and that is too late already! It would have been perfect for our upcoming trip! I’m also craving for more ruffle bikinis and clothing in soft tones that have hints of blush and oatmeal. I would also kill for a pair of Aquazurra sandals as they just seem to work well with any outfit possible! Vibrant kimonos with fringes on the bottom would be perfect for the white streets of Oia and some timeless thin white knits and panama hats would be perfect for lunching under the olive trees in Tuscany.

White is the new black. Leaning towards the lighter tones of the colour spectrum, an all white ensemble is the way to dress during the warmer seasons. White is a clean slate, a blank canvas that offers so much with its minimal hue. As we all know, crisp all-white styles were a staple on the spring ’15 catwalks, that played with volume, proportion and form. We saw a number of cropped to oversized looks to clean and structural designs. This timeless shade makes for a fashionable look, while the influx in mixing textures with different pieces not only makes a chic monochromatic statement but a breath of fresh air!

White is a classic colour that always comes back into trend, especially during spring and summer. A white maxi dress is an easy outfit choice for me. Slit on both sides of the hem, it also has a shear lace piece over the knees, giving it that lightness and easy flow. I love how the cool hue looks so refreshing in the evening sunlight. I’ve layered the maxi with a white crop top that also has some detailing on the hem. Together, the look is soft and easy on the eyes that pops out a sun-kissed tan. The style is minimal but by all means, not boring.

Romantic Lace at Seaside

‘Summer is officially here’

I can really say yesterday was the first proper hot day of summer and we spent the day in a cute coastal town just outside of the city. Today’s style is based on soft white tones combining a mixture of textures and lengths. The long flirty kimono gave me a sudden degree of confidence, I think it may have been the feminine and romantic touch to it. It blew beautifully in the wind as we sat on the dock and enjoyed the sailboats drift by. A couple of boho style necklaces hang effortlessly against my linen shirt while the equestrian style ankle boots keep the look preppy and clean.

‘Winter Florals’

Blouse & Pants/Zara, Ankle Boots/ Calpierre, Bracelet/ Hermés

I mean, who can resist lovely fresh-cut blooms? I sure can’t. Well an obvious choice would be to burst out floral patterns when spring comes around the corner, but I wanted to break them out early. To me, a floral pattern has never felt more fresh becoming just the right remedy for our dull dark winter days. I’ve often heard woman say, floral prints are a risky choice and prefer leaving their blooms on your kitchen table. Many say, it just looks too tacky, outdated and doesn’t really fit with my style. I say your partly right, but it is all about how you wear it. First of all you need  a bit of attitude and a dollop of courage. Minute and abstract designs can add a intriguing amount of visual creativity transferring your look to a modern elegant woman. You can easily wear it to the office with clean black pants and become an urban city-gal with styling it with a bit of edge. If I was going for dinner/drinks I would wear this blouse with black leather shorts, thin black stockings, over the knee socks, chunky ankle boots and an oversized bag. I would add a long blazer on top and march to the bar to order a glass of bubbly. Ps. I haven’t been out since new years, I am so craving for a glass of champagne as I’m writing this!

May I just say that the tropical inspired florals are going to be hot in 2015 along with edgier more elaborate prints. Even though this year large prints are very much in the scene, I’m a fan of the subtle delicate ornamental blooms. Anyways, I suggest you begin soaking up the blooming idea as a flower maxi is an essential item for your summer wardrobe. Yes, a beautiful flowy floral print with ethnic vibes creating that perfect 60s inspired bohemian dress. Bring on the flower power!

/Hei kaikille!
